Experience Nashville with Concerts, Festivals, Celebrations, and Family Fun

Make Nashville your summer vacation destination and enjoy live music of all genres, patios in every neighborhood, festivals, and world-class exhibitions.

Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend and kick off the summer in Music City. Nashville has several trip ideas and events that are sure to create memorable moments throughout the holiday weekend.

Nashville's free July 4th celebration will feature multi-platinum global entertainer Chris Young who will headline Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th presented by Dr Pepper. The event will also include performances by Yola, a six-time GRAMMY-nominated artist, Girl Named Tom, a sibling trio who made history by winning NBC's The Voice in 2021, and Blessing Offor, a two-time GRAMMY Award nominee. 

This free downtown event is open to everyone and family-friendly, with activities throughout the day, including the free Amazon Family Fun Zone.  The evening will conclude with one of the country's largest July 4th fireworks shows, which for the first time will include drone light elements - synchronized to live music from the GRAMMY-winning Nashville Symphony.

CMA Fest returns for its 51st year from June 6-8 as tens of thousands of country music fans from across the globe descend on Nashville to experience four days of music from hundreds of artists. Events during the festival include live concerts at several venues, meet-and-greets, autograph signings, and more. There are numerous ways to enjoy CMA Fest for free, including concerts at four separate stages throughout Downtown Nashville.

Join the 80,000 fans who flock to Manchester, TN, just down the road from Nashville, for Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, a four-day event from June 13-16 with over 150 musical performances, along with comedy, cinema, sustainability workshops, and more starting on June 13.

The Nashville Pride Festival returns to Bicentennial Park on June 22 and 23rd. This two-day LGBTQI+ festival features top-rated entertainment on multiple stages, a Kids and Family Area, a Youth Area, Community Art Installations, and over 225 vendors featuring local not-for-profits, artists, and businesses.

The free fun continues with Musicians Corner on the Southwest lawn at Centennial Park in Nashville, which spans five weeks, beginning May 17 and wrapping up June 15. Musicians Corner offers local live music with The Parthenon as the backdrop and will feature Kidsville, food trucks, vendors, local artisans, and more.

Summer closes with the annual AMERICANAFEST, on September 17-21. This annual festival gathers thousands of artists, fans, and industry professionals from all over the world in Nashville. The festival will feature approximately 150 live music performances from both established and emerging artists at nine music venues. 

If you're looking to beat the heat, there is no better place than one of the city's museums. Be sure to explore the Frist Art Museum and the premier summer exhibition Lee Alexander McQueen & Ann Ray: Rendez-Vous. The exhibition features 65 photographs hand-selected by photographer Ann Ray from her archive of over 32,000 negatives and more than 50 dress objects spanning McQueen's career.

Home to the most music museums in the world, Nashville plays host to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, which will display Night Train to Nashville: Music City Rhythm & Blues Revisited exhibit. In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the acclaimed 2004–2005 exhibit explored an often-overlooked chapter of Nashville's musical history, an influential rhythm & blues scene that thrived from the 1940s through the 1960s and was influential to Nashville's music scene.

Nashville's music museums also include the historic Ryman Auditorium, the National Museum of African American MusicMusicians Hall of Fame and MuseumHistoric RCA Studio B, the Johnny Cash Museum and Patsy Cline Museum.

Bringing the family to Music City for summer vacation? There is no shortage of activities for the kids in Nashville. Experience the sounds of the Nashville Zoo or take a journey to Tennessee's largest petting farm, Lucky Ladd Farms, featuring over 100 friendly animals and exotic livestock. Be sure to cool off inside and enjoy the day at the premier learning center in Middle Tennessee, the Adventure Science Center.

Family-friendly fun continues at the Tennessee State Museum which is free and open to the public. Visitors to the museum will have the opportunity to experience Tennessee's history, art, and culture from the state's natural history beginnings through the present day.

Enjoy America's favorite pastime with the Nashville Sounds at First Horizon Park. The ballpark located in Germantown is for visitors of all ages. Take in the laid-back atmosphere of the Band Box, an outdoor bar and restaurant located beyond the right field wall, or bring the kids for Sunday Family Fun Days, where kids can take part in pregame autographs with select Sounds players and postgame Kids Run the Bases.

Be sure to quench your thirst and grab a bite at one of the many patios throughout Nashville.
